Obviously, gardening in this part of the world doesn’t consist of tulips, lilacs and forsythia. However, their absence is more than made up for by the wonderfully diverse variety of wholly different botanical species:  scores of varieties of exotic Heliconia, an array of vibrantly colorful Bougainvillea, the delightful assortment of palms we’ve assembled from all around the world, ancient cycads, sun loving succulents and hanging epiphytes. Herein, are copies of Tommy’s weekly column “Planting Roots in Mexico” and “Tommy’s Tips” discussing the growing and maintenance of such as these.
